Along The Journey

AK’s Story

It started in North Delta, a suburb right outside of Vancouver, BC. Like most kids, sports were everything—but for AK, they became the foundation for something bigger. Basketball and soccer weren’t just games; they were the first lessons in friendship, leadership, teamwork, and pushing beyond your comfort zone.

The talent, passion, and drive were there. Province-level competitions in both sports led to wearing the maple leaf for Team Canada soccer, playing professionally in Europe, and suiting up for the Vancouver White Caps. All while earning a degree from UBC. The cherry on top? A spot in the BC Sports Hall of Fame for helping Canada bring home gold at the Francophone Games.

The Journey

Life has its own playbook. The transition from pro athlete to personal trainer might seem natural, but the leap into corporate finance? That’s where things got interesting. Each role—entrepreneur, investor, CEO, board chairman, venture capitalist—added a new dimension to the game.

Present Day

These days, the game is bigger but the core principles haven’t changed. After cutting his teeth in fiance, AK found his sweet spot at the intersection of consumer products, health & wellness, and technology. Being an early mover in the cannabis space—taking the second-ever cannabis company public—opened doors to multiple successful IPOs and exits in the consumer product sector.

Now, he splits his time between advising RX3, managing Klutch Financial (his family office), and hunting for the next opportunity to make an impact. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the deals you close, it’s about the doors you open for others.
